How to: No-fuss Cupcake Pies


These cupcake -sized pies have long been a favorite in our family.  They’re so easy to make and you can actually get all of the ingredients pre-made from the store!  More adventurous people can feel free to make their own crust and filling — but that adds a substantial amount of time to the project.  I love making these for potlucks because they’re so easy!


  • 1 package frozen pie crust (makes 12 pies)
  • 2 cans of pie filling of choice (20oz cans)
  • Cupcake pan
  • 1 egg

Step 1: Preheat oven to 425 (or whatever it says on the pie crust box). Grease your cupcake pan with oil or butter

Step 2: Roll frozen pie crust to about 1/2 the original thickness.  Cut out 12 circles with 4 inch diameters and place them into cupcake tin.

Step 3: Fill pies with canned filling.

Step 4: Cut out remaining strips and place them on the top of the pies however you want, adhering the edges to the bottom crust with egg.

Step 5: Bake for 14-19 minutes (until top is as brown as you’d like it).

Step 6: Enjoy perfect single-portioned pies!
